Staring from Plain Joux (1300 metres) we skirt above the Lac Vert....
That's a frozen lake down there
....and climb to Le Chatelet (1418 metres) for a coffee at the refuge
Climbing to Ayeres des Rocs, we see where the Roman road headed to Martigny and admire the Fiz Mountain, the largest limestone plateau in Europe.

Time for cake and tea by the fire... and a soak in the hot tub!

Its about 30C outside and the kids are in the pool, so I can't imagine how cold that is. In actual fact, I've never seen proper snow like that, but that looks like an adventure well worth doing.

These really are great snow shots - it is not often you can get snow shots in Britain with blue shadows unfortunately. May be the sky will turn blue tomorrow and then who knows.
ReplyDeleteI bet that soak in the tub and coffee feels soooooooo good after a day of skiing Nat. Its heating up again here in Perth so its been refreshing seeing the 'big snow'..
