I'm Back... And It's A Blogiversary!

Hello everyone!

Yes I'm back from my adventures in Chamonix with aching limbs, massive blisters and a spot of sun-on-snow burn, but otherwise, I'm more-or-less in one piece!

Loads of photos to share, but first, I need to get myself organised. So, here's a quick taster (an amuse-bouche maybe?) of where I've been...

Oh yes, and today 'Just Nat' turns 4! That means it's been four fantastic years of fascinating, fun, flabbergastingly futile posts from me.... and loads more to come in 2013.

Just Nat Turns 3

Three years on, and astonishingly, I'm still regularly knocking out this complete drivel highly intellectual, thought-provoking prose, as well as the odd photo or two.

I've racked up 372 posts, had around 10,000 views of my blog and received over 2,000 comments. A huge thank you to my fabulous readers! I hope that you will stick around in 2012, as I have quite a few things in store....

Most excitingly, I plan to travel as much as possible. So far, I am booked to go to Lille (North France) for a weekend break later this month, then there's the biggie of 2012 - the fortnight in Vietnam and Cambodia in April, plus a short break in Dubrovnik (Croatia) in June... to take advantage of the Diamond Jubilee weekend. Yes, she's giving us a holiday... 'cause she can!

God save our gracious Queen! Thanks for our 4-day weeeekend! God save our Queen!


Wonder if that counts as treason? If not and I'm still a free woman in October, there are plans afoot for a trip to New England and Canada to coincide with the autumn (sorry, I mean Fall!) foliage. We shall see...

This year I am determined to shift some weight by making some permanent lifestyle changes.... such a New Year cliche, right? Never fear, faithful readers, I will not be boring you with nonstop, tedious calorie-counting tales, but I may be sharing some new low-fat-but-still-easy-and-delicious recipes. 

Otherwise, expect the usual, completely random nonsense that a year in the life of Nat brings....

Two Year Blogiversary

Would you believe that it's exactly two years to the day that I first clicked "Publish Post" and secured my very own little piece of the blogosphere? Two hundred and fifty-five posts later...and, miraculously, I'm still finding some random drivel inspiring material with which to bore amaze you.

A huge thanks to all my readers for dropping by and commenting, and hopefully you'll stick around for the Terrible Twos. I promise not to throw tantrums, or scream and whine that I want chocolate (and I want it NOW!)...at least not too often, anyway!

I hope this blog will continue to grow up with me, since, in the words of Anthony de Mello...

"Wisdom tends to grow in proportion to one's awareness of one's ignorance".

Well, I've been posting on here for one whole year now....albeit a tad sporadically, especially at the start. I've experimented (mostly unsuccessfully) with styles and themes and written a whole load of longwinded crap that nobody will ever read. But at least it's out of my head and down here instead, a record of my Life Somewhat Ordinary.

Is my blog the "single most boring piece of self-absorbed, uninspiring drivel" that I set out to avoid? And would it be worth carrying on...even just to remind myself when I'm 109 (senile, in a nappy and drooling in a care home) exactly what a dumb ass I was, I am and that I no doubt will be in the future? This all remains to be seen....or rather to be read.

Thanks to everyone who has read any of my posts...some of you have even perservered right to the end of them AND then still taken the time to leave a witty or inspiring comment. Please keep reading, as I'd like to think this blog is a work in progress, with bigger and better things to come....
