My sympathies lie with all those living along the Cornwall, Devon and Dorset coasts, Wales, Somerset and the Thames Valley. Forced to flee from the rising waters.... their homes, farms and businesses flooded, their lives turned upside down. And there is no end in sight. More storms are on their way, more rain, more destruction.
So far, we've been OK here in Bedfordshire, although flood warnings are in place and the River Great Ouse that snakes through the centre of Bedford town is getting worrying high, as these photos from last weekend show....
There's definitely enough water for water sports!
The swans and ducks don't mind too much!

Its unbelievable, isn't it? We're okay here, too but I really feel for the poor people without homes or power. x
ReplyDeleteI think everyone is getting depressed about the weather situation which doesn't appear to be on the change in the foreseeable future. I am so pleased that we live on top of a 750 foot hill - as soon as it rains it soaks away but sadly to the people down in the valley. It must be a nightmare for them all.

ReplyDeleteYou have some serious water around. We on the other hand had a dry winter and not much this summer (unlike the previous year)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of water! Mother nature can be pretty harsh at times. We're in the middle of a terrible drought here. Hoping for snow in the mountains and some rain everywhere else.
